James R. Carr is professor of geological sciences and engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno.  His specialty areas are:

Data analysis and visualization.

Remote sensing and digital image processing.

Computer programming (Fortran; Visual Basic).

Non-point-source pollution prevention.

General geology.

 

Jim has been an avid mineral collector since the age of 8.  In 2010, he published his first publication related to mineral collecting:
