Who is this Dave DuBois?

Dave was born in New Mexico and raised in the heart of southern New Jersey not far from a small town called Elmer. This was a great place to grow up with lots of open space (for NJ) and dirt. This part of New Jersey is very different from northern New Jersey that most people are familiar with. Yes, there are still rural areas in New Jersey. Did you know that the prickly pear cactus is native to South Jersey? Anyway, I went to A.P. Schalick High School in Centerton and graduated in 1983. I am also part of the Navajo Nation (Kinyaa' áanii or Towering House Clan) from my mother's side. Click here to see a map of the Navajo reservation if you are not familiar with the area. Here's a very short synopsis of the last few years

After high school, I attended Rutgers University where I completed my undergraduate studies in 1988 majoring in Physics. At this point in my life, Jesus Christ became my Lord and Savior. I enjoyed being a part of the Navigators campus ministry at Rutgers. I then decided that five years of college wasn't enough so I went back to school at New Mexico State University and studied more physics! At NMSU I studied single micron sized droplet laser spectroscopy with Dr. Robert Armstrong. After finishing my Master's degree in 1991 a job seemed very appealing. I landed a job with SciTec Inc. in Princeton, NJ. I then got married in 1992 and moved not far from the Jersey shore.  After about four years with SciTec we decided that I still didn't get enough education. So we moved to Reno, Nevada and I attended the University of Nevada. I completed my Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science in August 2003. I did my research in the field of air quality studying atmospheric aerosols under the supervision of Dr. John Watson. Right now I am working at the Desert Research Institute in Las Vegas, Nevada and enjoying the warm climate.
