Exam III Part One

You can assume the Laplace transform table from Page 285 will be available. I will pick at least one problem from each of the following three groups: Be able to determine whether a DE is underdamped, critically damped or overdamped by examining the coefficients.

• Section 5.1: Know examples 3-5 very well, i.e. be able to reproduce the details (not exercises but examples)
• Section 7.1: Know examples 1-3 very well, i.e. be able to reproduce the details (not exercises but examples)
• Section 7.2: Know examples 1-3 very well, i.e. be able to reproduce the details (not exercises but examples)

Exam III Part Two

I will pick one problem from each of the following three groups:

• Section 7.2: Know the details of how to obtain equation (6) middle of page 287
• Section 7.3: A problem very similar to Example 1 or 2
• Section 7.3: A problem very similar to Exercise 21 or 22
