RESEARCH My Dissertation research dealt with Basque traditional dance and
its relationship to individual and collective identities in the
Homeland and in the diaspora. The main field sites for my research
were Oņati, Gipuzkoa and Boise, Idaho.
Basque 221 I will be teaching Introduction to Basque Dance again spring
semester. The class features a lecture component as well as
dance activity. Students become acquainted with different
Basque dance genres and regional styles. The class schedule is
as follows:
Tuesdays 5:30 - 6:20 pm in Lombardi 204
Thursdays 5:30 - 7:10 pm in Lombardi 7
The class begin January 24, 2006.

FOLK DANCE ENSEMBLE In addition to my academic involvement with dance, I also direct
Zenbat Gara Basque Dance Ensemble which began on campus in
1989.
