CLASS ACCOUNTS
ALL STUDENTS WILL NEED ACCESS TO THE INTERNET AND THE
WORLD WIDE WEB.
In order to successfully complete the course, students
will need an e-mail account. YOU
WILL NEED TO CHECK YOUR E-MAIL AT LEAST TWO OR
THREE TIMES A WEEK!
Students are no longer permitted to have accounts on the University of Nevada Systems Computing Services server called FALLON. It was my understanding that at least for now, all graduate students are entitled to a UNR account on some server.
The rules relating to this from SCS and from UNR IT are changing so fast that I can't keep up with them. For up-to-date details on accounts for graduate students, check with the HELP desk in the library.
In order to use the COE Computer Lab, the labs in the library, the library CITRIX server, WEBCT (WebCampus), or for many other purposes, you must activate your UNR NetID if you have not already done so.
To activate your netID, go to:
http://www.it.unr.edu/accounts.aspx
Click on "Activate your UNR NetID, then, follow the instructions on the screen - you will need to enter your user name and a password, and confirm the password.
You can do all assignments at home, on the CITRIX server, or in one of the labs on campus. (You
will find a complete list of UNR labs with hours and software available
on the UNR COMPUTER
LABS PAGE.)
Hours for the Education Computer Lab are available for any given month
on the COE LAB PAGE.)
The phone number in the lab is 327-5280.
I have read it carefully and I cannot find definite information about whether or not graduate students are entitled anymore to an email account on any UNR server. If you get any definite information about this, please let me know.
