Dr. Mary Finn Maples came to the Department of Counseling and Educational Psychology in 1977 as Coordinator of Student Development/Counseling in Higher Education, Educational Psychology and School Counseling. Dr. Maples' has a national reputation as a former President and Treasurer of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and as President of the national Association for Spiritual, Ethical and Religious Values in Counseling (ASERVIC).

She has served as adjunct professor for the National Judicial College and the National Center for State Courts. Dr. Maples has published extensively in the areas of spirituality in adult development; wellness and transitioning of Baby-Boomers; organizational development, and motivation in the workplace, as well as values and attitudes in judicial decision-making. She has presented numerous workshops on the above and other topics internationally.

Teaching / Interest

Dr. Maples teaches in the areas of legal and ethical issues in the helping professions, in addition to her work in higher education development and counseling. She has extensive experience in consultation with judicial venues across country in the area of comprehensive motivation, planning, implementation and monitoring of the court system as a workplace.
