SEPT. 27: Sketches of Frank Gehry

I highly recommend this program, 9 PM, KNPB Channel 5 (And Thursday, September 28th at l AM in the morning!)

Sketches of Frank Gehry is director Sydney Pollack's absorbing profile of architect Gehry. It includes conversations at Gehry's home, studio and construction sites; his erratic drawings and their development into completed structures." [KNPB website].

Films featuring architecture

Schedule

The Turner Classic Movie Network is offering a menu of five films each Wednesday in October. They start at 8 PM. Regrettably, they run into the wee hours, and will apparently not be repeated on any kind of alternate schedule at more believable times. However, the website information on each film is very interesting. For those of us who are not night owls or insomniacs, the films are all old enough to be rentals, and possibly some may be in the UNR Film library. Just reading the descriptions of the films is interesting.

Under the thematic titles, each film has a brief summary. If you click on the title of each film, some have extensive summaries.
