University of Nevada, Reno: HP 403
Fall 2006
HP 403 studies architecture across all the major world cultures. The course is offered by the Historic Preservation Program in the Department of Anthropology. The primary textbook will be Buildings Across Time, 2nd edition, by Moffet, Fazio and Wodehouse (McGraw Hill).
Two additional texts are strongly recommended:
Hacker, A Pocket Style Manual, 4th edition (Beford St. Martins) - or any equivalent style manual.
Maranci, A Survival Guide for Art History Students (Pearson-Prentice Hall). This is especially recommended if you have never taken an art or architectural history course.
