Professional Background:  Mel's  background includes 20 years of executive leadership in a large health care system in Central California. She acquired B.S. in Medical Record Administration from the Illinois State University, and an M.P.H. Health Service Management from the University of California Los Angeles.  In 1996, she was awarded  F.A.C.H.E. (Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives), a highly commendable distinction in health care administration.  She is currently working on her doctorate in educational leadership. 
Teaching:  Mel is teaching in areas of health services management, health policy, organizational development, and mind/body health.  She has recently developed curriculum for the Masters of Public Health focus in Health Care Administration and Policy.
