Email hours: Sun-Thurs 9-10 pm. A student email received before 8 pm on Sunday through Thursday, will be answered on the same day before 11 pm.

Office hours: I will be available in my office as needed on Monday through Thursday from noon to 1 pm and Monday through Friday 9-10 am. Be sure to let me know in class or on email when you think you might want to see me in my office at these or any other times.

Text: Navidi, William, Statistics for Engineering and Scientists, 2nd or 3rd edition. We will begin the class with the second edition of the book. We will cover topics from Chapters 1-7.

A: 92-100%

A-: 88-91%

B+: 84-87%

B: 80-83%

B-: 75-79%

C+: 70-74%

C: 65-69%

C-: 60-64%

D+: 57-59%

D: 54-56%

D-: 50-53%

Tests (3 x 20% each) -On July 22, August 2 and August 11, 2011; see the schedule. There will be no make-up tests. You may bring two 8.5" by 11" sheets of papers with your notes to each test.

Quizzes (20% total ) -See the schedule; the best 5 will count.

Homework (20% total) - Homework will be collected each Friday at the beginning of class. The problem list includes practice problems from the second edition of the text book. For those of you who have a different edition, I will make copies of the problems available off the course webpage. Problems to be turned in will be announced in class each day. Late homework will not be accepted, but I will drop one lowest score.

The tests and the quizzes will be similar to the homework problems

Any modifications to this will be announced in class and on the webpage. Please check daily.
