Biography

I am originally from the southern part of India however I have stayed in different parts of the country for my education. I did my schooling in Pune, Maharashtra (Western part of India), and my undergraduate degree from REC, Durgapur, West Bengal (Eastern part of India). I am fluent in many Indian languages: Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Marathi. I can also speak a little Bangla.

 

Family

I am happily married to my wife, Gayathri, who is working as a software engineer.

My brother, Dr. Ramnath K. Chellappa is an Associate Professor in the Goizueta Business School, Emory University. He is well known for his work in E-Commerce and related areas.

 

Interests

I am an outdoor person. I enjoy camping and hiking with my wife and friends. I have visited many national and state parks (Arches, Great Basin, Ruby Mountains, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Zion, and many others).

I am an avid reader and enjoy reading about the history of ancient India and Egypt.
