Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering             (December 2004)

Dissertation Advisor: Prof. Dhanesh Chandra

University of Nevada, Reno

Description: Major portion of the Ph.D. dissertation comprised of phase diagram calculations of organic “plastic crystal” binary systems. The organic compounds were alcohol and amine derivatives of neopentane that are candidate materials for Thermal Energy Storage (TES). The dissertation also discussed new results on the pressure-induced transformations in these organics (Pentaerythritol and Neopentylglycol) using in situ Raman spectroscopy in a Diamond Anvil Cell (DAC).

M.S. in Chemical Engineering                      (August 2001)

Thesis Advisor: Prof. Charles Coronella

University of Nevada, Reno

Description:Thesis described a novel method of “Average Dynamic Matrix Control” to a nonlinear process (pH neutralization) and investigating parameter sensitivities using perturbation theory and interval analysis.
