Research Interests
A key driving force in my research activities is the use of computational methods and applied mathematics to address problems of interest in chemical engineering and related disciplines such as systems biology and molecular modeling. Computational methods and modeling have played a very significant role in the development of chemical engineering and will continue to foster the description of physical phenomena associated with emerging areas such as drug delivery modeling and theory and simulation of nano- and bio-molecular systems, among others. My current research efforts focus on understanding the effects of uncertainty and robustness analysis of drug delivery models, molecular modeling of nano-scale processes using mesoscopic modeling approaches, prediction of thermophysical properties in wide ranges of conditions, and risk and uncertainty analysis of chemical process design and simulation, in general.
