Dr .Reed Gibby

Dr. Reed Gibby joined the group in Spring 2010 as an Adjunct Professor. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of California, Davis in 1991. He is a Professor Emeritus from California State University, Chico. Prior to joining UNR, he held a position as a Chief Engineer at the Nevada Department of Transportation.

Dr. Haiyuan Li
Haiyuan Li is a visiting post-doctoral scholar. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from the Southeast University, China. His major focus areas include transportation planning, management, and safety.


Dr. Peng Du

Dr. Peng Du came to UNR in Fall 2011 as a visiting scholar. He received his Ph.D from Beijing Jiaotong University in 2005 and joined the faculty since then. His major research interests focus on simulation and urban transit operations.

Lynnwood Johnson

L.J. Johnson graduated from the University of Nevada Reno in May 2006 with a Bachelors of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering. He is pursuing a M.S. degree in Transportation Engineering.

Peifeng (Patrick Hu)
Patrick Hu is a graduate research assistant, and is pursuing his Ph.D. degree in Transportation. He obtained a M.S. degree from the Beijing Jiaotong University, China, and a B.S. from the Inner Mongolia University, China.

Zhen Zhang
Zhen Zhang is a graduate research assistant, and is pursuing his M.S. degree in Transportation. He obtained his B.S. degree from the Beijing Jiaotong University.

Boqun (Michael) Yin
Boqun (Michael) Yin is pursuing his M.S. degree in Transportation. His motto: "Past has already became history, future is unknown yet, what we have is just now, so do it!"


Samuel Kofi Ahiamadi

Samuel Kofi Ahiamadi is a graduate research assistant pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Transportation Engineering. He is from Ghana in West Africa. He obtained his B.Sc and M.Phil degrees from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi Ghana. He taught for some years before enrolling at UNR.


Rasool Andalibian

Rasool Andalibian is from Tehran, the capital city of Iran. He got a M.S.c in Transportation Engineering from Sharif University of Technology and a B.S.c in Civil Engineering from Azad University of Mashhad. He is pursuing a PhD as a graduate research assistant at UNR. Rasool described his feeling about joining UNR: "I am so glad about joining the UNR Transportation Group which is really active and unique. More importantly, I am so proud to be a member of this group and try to do my best."


Yue (Laura) Zhao

Yue Zhao is a graduate research assistant pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Transportation Engineering. She is from northeastern China. She obtained her B.S. degree from Beijing Jiaotong University and an outstanding graduate award from key higher educational institution in Beijing, 2008. Then, she studied in the MOE Key Laboratory for Urban Transportation Complex Systems Theory and Technology in Beijing Jiaotong University and got M.S. degree in 2010. "I am so excited to join UNR since it is a once in a life time opportunity to be a member of the excellent academic group in Transportation Engineering. I can’t wait to devote my passion and thinking to traffic study and research so as to be excellent in my field.", said Laura.


Ivy Attah

Ivy Attah is from Ghana. After gaining basic education in Ghana, she had her secondary education in Swaneng Hill Secondary School, Serowe- Botswana. She migrated back to Ghana for her tertiary education at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology where she obtained a degree in B.Sc. in the Civil and Environmental Engineering. She finally relocated to the United States to pursue a M.S. degree in Transportation at UNR. "I decided to enroll with UNR because UNR is noted for being one of the best in quality research methodologies and academic excellence (ranked a top tier university) based on testimonies I heard from a few alumni from UNR and awesome experiences they had while enrolled with UNR".said Ivy. 


Saeedeh Farivar

Saeedeh Farivar originally came from Iran. She is pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Transportation Engineering. She received a M.S. degree from Sharif University of Technology and a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Mashhad, both in Iran.

Feng (Jason) Xu

Feng (Jason) Xu completed his M.S. degree in Spring 2007. He is currently employed at KOA Corporation, a transportation engineering consulting firm in Orange County, California. He has been working on several traffic signal timing project.

Joe Norby

Joe Norby graduated from UNR with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering. He was an undergraduate researcher of the Transportation Group while attending UNR. Joe is now working as a Transportation Analyst for Lee Engineer, a firm specializing in Transportation/Traffic Engineering in Phoenix, AZ.

Ozlem Ozmen

Ozlem Ozmen completed her Ph.D. degree in Fall 2009.


Xuan Wang

Xuan Wang completed her Ph.D. degree in Fall 2009. She is now working at the Nevada Department of Transportation.

Dr. Yi Zhao
Yi Zhao was a visiting post-doctoral scholar at UNR between 2008 and 2010. He is now an Assistant Professor at Beijing Jiaotong University, China. His major focus areas include urban transportation planning, management, ITS, and adaptive traffic signal control systems.


Ahmed Abdel Dayem

Ahmed Dayem was pursing his Ph.D. between 2006 and 2010 at UNR. He is currently employed at Iteris Inc. in the L.A. area.

Chris Washa

Chris completed his M.S. degree in Spring 2010. He is currently employed at the Nevada Department of Transportation.  

Timin Punnackal

Timin Punnackal completed his M.S. degree in Spring 2010. He is working at Nichols Engineering in Reno.

Sushil Joshee

Shshil graduated in Spring 2011 with a M.S. degree. He is currently working at the Truckee office of Caltrans.


Hongyan Gao

Hongyan completed her Ph.D. degree in Spring 2011.

Dr. Jiajun Shen

Dr. Jiajun Shen is a lecturer and the Deputy Head of Traffic Engineering program at Yangzhou University, China. He visited UNR between 9/2011 and 1/2012.

  


Xianyu Wu

Dr. Xianyu Wu visited UNR as a visiting post-doctor from November 2010 to January 2012. While at UNR, he was involved with a number of research projects with a major focus on software development for signal timing and coordination. He is now an assistant professor at Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing, China.
