  • IPO'S
    Departments on the UNR campus as well as DRI may purchase chemicals and other merchandise with the use of an IPO(Internal Purchase Order) or Purchasing card. The IPO must be filled out with a valid account number, "Ship to/Buyer" information, and an authorized signature. Failure to comply with this procedure will result in the refusal of the IPO. ChemStores personnel will fill in the item number, and description if not already annotated. The Items will be issued and the correct price will be entered on the IPO within a few business days and a copy of the IPO will be returned to the mailstop on the "Ship to/Buyer" block. Ethanol must be on separate IPO than other items.

  • Purchasing Cards
    Purchasing cards can also be used to purchase chemicals, lab supplies, and Ethanol. The card must be present at the purchase, and the sale will be issued right away. A copy of the receipt will be given to the buyer. When Ethanol is requested, it must be a separate purchase than the other items. Other items will have to be bought in a different transaction.

  • Dry Ice
    Dry Ice may be purchased from ChemStores with the use of an P-card or an IPO. The IPO must be filled out with the information as stated above and brought to ChemStores. The Dry Ice will be weighed and annotated on the IPO form. Cost of Dry Ice varies each month, but is approximetly $1.50/lb.

  • Ethanol Procedures
    Ethanol is available in three different grades from ChemStores: 95% Ethanol is dispensed in 1 gallon increments. It is necessary to provide a container, or a plastic container may be purchased from ChemStores with a separate IPO or a separate purchase card transaction(See Purchase Card section above). Absolute Ethanol(200 proof) is provided in 1 Pint bottles. A maximum of 6 bottles may be purchased at one time. Denatured Ethanol may be dispensed in any requested increments.

  • News
    Record street entrance is currently blocked off. To gain entrance to Chemstores, enter off N.Virginia street between White Pine Hall and the Old Gym. You will need to enter the following code to elevate the entrance arm: 6219. Drive past the Ansari building and turn left to the basement level of the Chemistry bldg.
