Laboratory Aid links:
- The Laboratory Safety Manual, from the University of Virginia Office of Environmental Health and Safety. A great resource for info on working safely in the lab. Really a lot of useful stuff here. Thumbs up!
- Chemical Separations: a great site from the University of Akron, with several instructional slideshows explaining theory and practice of different separations techniques such as distillation, extraction, and chromatography.
- The Organic Laboratory: series of photographs of O-Chem lab experiments. Caution: these experiments are similar in nature to those done in the UNR O-Chem lab courses, but are not the same. Photos should only be consulted for reference, and not as instruction.

Study Aid links:
- The NIST chemistry Homepage: A fantastic resource of IUPAC name isomers, structure diagrams, ir-spectra and so much more chemical data that will make your labbook writing infinitely easier. Search engine options include name, formula, CAS #, and more.
- The Vermont SIRI MSDS Homepage: This site is very important for finding out about chemical hazards, and it will also help in finding specific chemical data for the writeups. Has a search engine.
- The IUPAC Nomenclature Homepage: The Official home of the Official chemical naming system.
- Another IUPAC Nomenclature page, this one a little easier to navigate.
- NIST - A Fantastic Resource, with chemical name, CAS, and formula search engines to help you breathe easy.
- Intro to Organic Nomenclature, if the previous two links are a bit too technical. This page is at Okanagan University College and requires the MDLI Chemscape plug-in, which is available from the site.
- WebElements: an online periodic table database.
- A List of O-Chem Terms, with definitions, from Brunel University's Chemistry Department.
- Visual Aids for Organic Chemistry, a site from the Colby College Chemistry Department, has several instructional movies. Requires the ShockWave plug-in, available from the site.
- General, Organic, and Biochemistry: the University of Akron site's again, this part containing LOTS of instructional slideshows and LOTS of Quicktime videos on many subjects covered in standard O-Chem courses.
- Organic Online: an online version of "Invitation to Organic Chemistry" by William Johnson. Movies, quizzes, real-world applications of O-Chem research.

If you haven't found what you're looking for YET, here are some pages which contain lists of organized links on just about everything chemical:
- Chemdex, boasting 4200+ chemistry and chemistry-related links, from the University of Sheffield Department of Chemistry.
- WEB-ster's Organic Chemistry. Another super site, with links mostly pertaining to Organic Chemistry. Gigantic.
- Martindale's "The Reference Desk". TONS of reference links. Here is a link to the Chemistry Center section of The Reference Desk, and here is a link directly to the O-Chem Section of the Chemistry Center section.
- The ACS ChemCenter: a page from the American Chemical Society, containing links, products and software useful to any chemistry student.
- Global Instructional Chemistry, another very comprehenzive list of links to chemistry-related stuff, from the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine.
Fun stuff:
Chemistry can be fun?! Oh mais oui! I think you have to have a certain kind of humor though. I certainly do, but I'm pretty much a geek. The following pages are chemistry- (or at least science-) related, and are presented here if you want to take a break from research:
- The Dihydrogen Monoxide (DHMO) website. This site cracks me up!
- Songs about Organic Chemistry. Re-vamped lyrics to familiar tunes. Yes, some people have even more spare time on their hands than I do.
- Nye Laboratories. Bill Nye the Science Guy, my HERO, has a website. Informative and super-fun! (This page requires FLASH to view it in all its splendor; there's a link to get it on the site.)
