Dan McCarthy

Welcome to my personal webpage. I received my Ph.D. from the Cognitive & Brain Sciences program at the University of Nevada, Reno and currently work in the C-Vision Lab with my advisor Dr. Gideon Caplovitz. Together, we conduct research to understand how the visual system organizes the complex, ever changing environment into understandable conscious experiences. In August 2014, I will be joining the Perception, Action & Cognition Lab under the direction of Dr. Joo-Hyun Song at Brown University. Having developed a solid background in human vision, I am eager to extend my expertise to understand how visual processes interact with higher-level cognition to influence our perceptual decisions and ultimately guide our behavior. To investigate these questions, I plan to employ a variety of techniques including psychophysics, fMRI, and EEG. Click the links at the top of the page to learn more about me and my research.
