Mission

Text Box: The Electron Microscopy and Microanalysis Facility (EMMF) at UNR provides many services and research opportunities. Using state-of-the-art imaging equipment, the facility offers research and teaching services in Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS).  
The mission of the EMMF is to meet the needs of the University, the State of Nevada, and the industrial community in all areas of microanalysis. 
Facility services are on a first come first served basis and are available for use on a fee by students, faculties, staff, and entire community for research projects and instruction. 
Operational funds for the EMMF are derived from direct charges made to the facility users and contribution from the research grants. Great efforts are made to keep these high tech equipments in an excellent condition.
